NSW Home Building Act review
The NSW Government is undertaking a broad and comprehensive review of the Home Building Act.
The Act regulates the issue of building licences, including owner-builder permits and the conditions under which they are issued.
To assist interested parties in making a submission to the review, an issues paper, Reform of the Home Building Act 1989, has been publicly released.
The paper outlines the current identified issues with the regulation of home building work in NSW.
Comments are being sought on the issues raised in the paper, as well as on any other aspect of the current regulatory framework.
Once the consultation period has closed and all comments and submissions have been received, feedback will be analysed and all potential options assessed.
The Government will then decide on the most appropriate way forward.
The deadline for submissions will be 18 August 2012.
